The Crucial Difference - Since 1982

Welcome to the Stardes News and Information Page
In the green room we invite you to
join us in remembering tours past and present, where we’ve been and where we are
going, new vehicles and new ideas...
Spend a little time looking through the bits
and pieces of memorabilia we have collected and photo’s of places we have been
New Units Join Stardes Fleet
We have had two new tractor and trailer units delivered
and only just in time ‘cos within a day they were out on tour. The two tractor units
are called “Sir Nigel Gresley” and “Evening Star” after the memorable steam trains,
the latter being the last steam locomotive to be built in Britain.
The Stardes Winter Tour
When we tour in winter the job sometimes becomes very difficult
and we see some interesting sights, so we decided to send a camera out on this one.
Click on the picture below to launch a slide show of our photographic journal of
this tour.

Stardes ‘Stars’ in FTA Video
Whilst on tour with ‘Ne-Yo’ a film crew from the FTA
tagged along just to see how we did things, click here to view the video.
Bring on The Sun
Even though it feels that we only go on tour in the cold weather,
we sometimes need to warm up so, here are a few snaps of a tour in the sun.
Stardes gets in anywhere
Here are a few snaps we’ve taken just to show the amount
of room that we sometimes have to squeeze our trucks into venues. Sometimes even
we didn’t think it would go!
Well thanks for looking, please check back soon for current news and updates.
The Winter of 2010
We all remember the beginning of the year, the chaos and havoc
caused by a little snow!!! Well, look at the pictures just to see what we had to
cope with!!

More New Trucks For Us
One of our main consideration’s when we looking for new vehicles
are the emissions, this is why once again Stardes chose DAF.
When DAF launched their
Enhanced Environmentally-friendly Vehicle engines (EEV), we felt that this was the
right way to go.
These state-of-the-art engines dramatically lower emission levels
below those required by Euro 5 standards. By combining DAF SCR technology with a
passive soot filter, particle emissions are reduced to levels even lower than most
gas-fuelled engines - approaching the proposed Euro 6 Levels.
This is good news for
the enviroment and good news for Stardes.
A quote from DHS “we’re not quite as green
as grass, but we’re getting there!”
Our New “Loco”
Like all our tractor units our latest has been named after a great
steam loco.
The “Dominion of Canada” was one of the great LNER Class A4 steam locomotive’s,
completed in May 1937, she was withdrawn from service in May 1965 and since May 1966
has been preserved by the CRHA at the Canadian Railway Museum at Delson/Saint-Constant,
Quebec, near Montreal.
